Welcome to Radio Praetoria's new webpage! After a two year hiatus, we are back and featuring some of the best and most eclectic mix of New Age/Ambient/Celtic/World/Electronic Music (along with all kinds of surprises in between!) to be found on the internet since 2001. This is the 4th incarnation of our station and we're happy to have you along! Please be patient with us as we re-establish our presence on the internet; and if you feel the urge, please consider becoming a Patreon of ours. Listening is always free, but your monthly support can help our station bring more wonderful music to as many listeners as possible. Sit back and enjoy the best mix of music to study to...to work to...to rest to...to live to!
Radio Praetoria has been around since 2001. It was created when NPR's nationally syndicated show "Echoes" was dropped by many local NPR in S. Calif. We *LOVED* John Diliberto's nightly music soundscape and was so sad to see it go; so we decided to create a small (some would call it "vanity") station on LIve365 with some of our favorite music tracks we owned so we could enjoy our faves from anywhere on the net. To our surprise, we discovered a growing audience of listeners who liked our playlist offerings. The audiences began on a regional level...then became national...and then, before we knew it...we had listeners from all over the world! Even more gratifying was we began receiving requests from wonderfully talented musicians from all over the world to have their music featured. In early 2016 we got word that Live365 was going to shut down; casting Radio Praetoria and many other small Internet Radio Stations to the wind. We floundered for a bit to find a host and settled on Radionomy for a couple of years, which itself went under in 2018 Finally, in late 2020 we found a potential new host/provider - Citrus3 - and decided to start again from the beginning.
Do you have questions or comments about our programming? Even Better! Do you want your music featured in our playlist rotation? Much of our playlist consists of little known/independent musicians. Our physical address for physical CD submissions is below. If you wish to ask about the digital submission of your work, send us a message, and we will get back to you soon. Please make sure your music is genre-appropriate for the station.
